We’ve been taking full advantage of all the fun things you can find on Pinterest.com. This week the St. Patrick’s Day theme has been in full swing, and we’ve been pining away. While most enjoy a green been or ten we thought we’d share some other fun and healthy green drinks to try for St. Patrick’s Day found on Pinterest.

Green Lemonade

Yield: 1 serving approx 10 oz
1 apple (may leave out if you wish for no sweetness)
1 lemon peeled
3/4 large English cucumber or one small
2 large kale leaves

Run all ingredients thru juicer, stir, test for flavour, enjoy.
Add a garnish to make it look pretty! Somehow, it makes it taste even better!

Green Leprechaun

Yield: 1 serving approx 10 oz
1 green apple
1/2 pink grapefruit
1/3 bunch fresh spinach
3/4 large English cucumber or one small
1/2 inch piece fresh ginger
1 stalk celery

Run all ingredients thru juicer, stir, test for flavour, enjoy.
Garnish and make look pretty!

Fresh Green Mint

Yield: 1 serving approx 10 oz 1 pear
1 lime, peeled
10 stems fresh mint
1 large collard leaf
3/4 large long English cucumber or 1 small
garnish with mint sprig

Run all ingredients thru juicer, stir, test for flavour, enjoy.
Garnish and make look pretty!

Dairy-free and Sugar-free Mint Chocolate Chip Shake

1 tablespoon raw cacao nibs
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 cup dairy-free vanilla ice cream (like So Delicious)
1 handful mint leaves (stems OK)
2 teaspoons or half a packet of Green Vibrance green food supplement (optional)
3 large ice cubes
1/2 cup or more unsweetened almond milk
Pinch of Himalayan sea salt

Combine all ingredients in a blender, and blend until smooth. Thin out with more almond milk if needed.

It used to be called International Working Women’s Day and is marked every March 8th by celebrating and sending e-cards and gifts. Women all over the world are celebrating the 2012 Women’s Day theme, Empower Women – End Hunger and Poverty. Today is a day to celebrate, appreciate, empower and love all women for their accomplishments economically, politically and socially.

The Washington Post has put together 10 ways to celebrate International Women’s Day – we’ve listed the top five!

1. Take the Day Off – Many countries observe International Women’s Day as a public holiday and all women get the day off!

2. Give Flowers to Women – Flowers have become a symbol for this day, weather it’s a fresh bouquet or a e-card, send flowers to the women that inspire you.

5. Perfect Palette — If you’re looking for all things wedding related on Pinterest, this is the the first account you’ll want to check out.

Maia McDonald — She’s a graphic designer for shopbop.com by day, and uses Pinterest as a creative outlet to expand on her many interests outside of work (check out her food boards: Pizza & Tarts, Pasta, and Breakfast) from the web. (Of course if you just love food, follow the famous Paula Deen.)

7. Jessica Colaluca — She focuses on Color Inspiration. Can’t think of a way to round up random pins that inspire you? Color code them like Jessica’s Shades of Blue and The New Green.

9. Pink Apple Pinterest - We’ve got everything from the products we offer online to all things women’s beauty, health, and the latest trends.

You’ve always been told that first impressions are the most important, this same rule apples even for the internet. Social Networking has really taken off and looks like its here to stay – for a while. And no mater what social media outlet you use, a profile picture is probably the most important step to your online profile. It’s your first chance to introduce and say something about yourself. Connie Wang at Refinery29.com came up with some very good tips to get your well on your way to the best photos of you!

Here’s what Connie had to say:

1. Lighting! – Areas with soft (shaded, cloudy, morning-or-evening) light always make for beautiful photos. If you’re taking a close-up, having a light source behind you will cast a halo around your face.

2. Party Time! — If you’ve got a camera that lets you play with the shutter speed, change it to the “nighttime” or “slow-sync shutter.” You’ll get some trippy light effects on your party pics, which always make for an awesome photo!

3. There’s An App For That — If you’ve got a smart phone, tablet, or computer, you can add cool filters to your photos with a variety of applications. Our favorites include Instagram, Fisheye Lite, 8mm Vintage Camera, and Photo Booth.

4. Don’t Futz With “Fun” Filters — You may have played around with them for your Friendster or MySpace profile, but it’s time to grow up, stop making your face glow green and blue, and avoid using those stock filters.

5. Learn Some Photoshop Basics — Removing red eye, auto-adjusting levels, and upping the contrast are all really easy tricks you can do to make your images really shine (a whole bunch are listed, here!). If you don’t have Photoshop, this free service, Photoscape, has all the basics you need.

6. No Selfies — Taking your own portrait is one of the biggest faux pas around. Mirror shots or extended arm shots are only okay if you’re 15 and getting ready for Homecoming. If you have to, there are ways to maneuver the camera so your arm isn’t in the shot, but don’t think you’re fooling anyone…

7. Get Natural — If you want to avoid that “senior photo” look, the best thing you can do is to use an activity as an opportunity to take a new profile picture. Going water skiing? Attempting to demolish a banana split? Hanging out with a bunch of goats? Cameras out!

8. +1s Allowed, +5s, Not So Much — If you want your BFF or significant other to join in on the fun, that’s totally okay. It starts getting confusing, though, when you’re posting a huge group shot as your own profile picture. Which one are you again?

9. Caption This! — A picture might be worth 1,000 words, but sometimes, a few more sentences are necessary. Utilize the caption function to add a backstory to your photo and encourage comments and likes.
